Responsibilities:
• Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
• Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company (payroll, invoicing, and other transactions)
• Provide technical accounting subject matter expertise on the treatment of accounting transactions and related financial reporting requirements
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting
• Ensure the month-end close is completed timely and accurately
• Maintain and enforce company policies and procedures including expense reimbursement and invoice/budget approvals tracking
• Develop and support team members (staff and senior accountant) in their careers
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
• Conduct period over period flux analysis and compare actual vs. expected results in partnership with the COO/CFO/CEO
• Manage ongoing communication with tax advisors and any 3rd party professional service
• Manage periodic and annual tax filings and returns, and ensure timely submission to authorities
• Amend or renew, when appropriate, corporate insurance policies
Qualifications & Desired Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance / Accounting / Other
• 8+ years of relevant work experience in payroll and billing processing for time-sheet based businesses
• Experience working with mid-sized organizations that have subsidiaries and over 200 employees
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effectively in ever-changing startup environments
• Ability to set a clear strategy, lead and inspire others to implement that strategy; write and clarify goals, and manage and prioritize several tasks and deliverables simultaneously
• Must have an entrepreneurial mindset—and find new and smarter financial approaches to help supercharge our growth
• Outstanding written/verbal communication skills
• Goal-driven, focused, independent worker, and “can-do” attitude
• Expert-level MS Excel skills, proficient in QuickBooks and Xero (5-10 yrs+ yr UK & US)
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
