Responsibilities
THE POSITION: Under the leadership of the Superintendent and as a member of the Cabinet, The Deputy Chief of Strategy & Partnerships orchestrates comprehensive strategic initiatives and policies for the Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE), and provides critical leadership for the Superintendent’s Office, internal operations, external relations, and government affairs
This executive role guides the activities of the Superintendent's Office, ensuring that they steward the Superintendent’s strategic vision and legislative priorities, enhancing ACOE’s profile and efficacy at county, state, and national levels
Serves as the highest position that has county-wide responsibility for formulating policies
This job reports to Assigned Administrator
TYPICAL DUTIES: Craft, refine, and execute strategic plans that are tightly aligned with the Superintendent's overarching educational and operational goals
Lead high level project initiatives that encompass innovative educational strategies, collaborating across divisions to ensure projects are effectively supporting ACOE’s mission
Serve as a key strategic advisor and thought partner to the Superintendent and Cabinet; engage across the ACOE to align strategy, planning, and management functions
Facilitate culture shaping, change initiatives, and discrete projects and ensuring streamlined communication and prompt-interdivisional problem solving
Monitor and adapt strategies in response to educational trends, legislative changes, and community needs, ensuring ACOE scales as an effective leader in educational development and advocacy

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: A Master’s Degree preferred from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public policy, education, business administration, social sciences, or related fields is required.
